I once saw some kids in a EG hatchback on a parking lot dumping house paint on the floor and running it over. Curious, i asked why they were doing that and one kid said that they were "painting the treads" Once you drive around a bit, the paint wears off and the tire grooves stay white to highlight the tread pattern...... yeah, all the WATs in the world

I'd definitely use water-soluble paint and a thin brush, but I'd do it for a giggle at autocross.
